School of Dance Policy and Code of Conduct.
LESSONS
Students will receive 30 lessons per year. Roughly 15 lessons per semester (fall/spring).
Please do not attend lessons if you or your child is sick. You can donate your lesson to a student needing extra lessons, or promote our studio by gifting your lesson to a friend or neighbor to try out our program.
If SOD must miss a lesson we will schedule a makeup lesson either as soon as possible or in the week after the semester ends.
Please arrive 5 minutes early for your class. Upon arrival please be dressed in your uniform with hair pulled back in a bun or neatly pinned back, and in ballet shoes. You may then quietly wait in the waiting aread for the proceeding class to finish.
Please no food or drink at lessons. Plan snacks and meals accordingly.
Please have your student(s) use the restroom prior to class.
We ask that parents to please not enter the classroom and the dressing room. If you need to assist your child in dressing, please plan to use the restrooms in the hallway.
TUITION
Tuition includes class and one performance in the spring. Our year is based on 30 weeks, with holidays included in those weeks. Tuition is determined by the class. If your student registers in January, this is roughly a 15 week commitment. You are required to pay for the full year of tuition, regardless of presence in the class. Dance-wear and exam materials are not included.
DRESS CODE
Dancewear can be purchased through Movin’ Easy Dancewear. For your purchasing ease we have our uniform on their website under Products by Category, sub-catagory studio. SOD asks families to adhere to the uniform specified above. This ensures dancers are dressed correctly to enable teachers to see the alignment of their bodies while dancing. Wearing the uniform also ensures their clothing is safe and practical for dancing, as well as puts them in the right mindset for dancing.
WTC enforces a three miss uniform policy. If a student arrives more than three times without proper uniform, they will be asked to leave class until they are in correct attire.
Payment can be made in full or broken up into 10 automated monthly payments. 5 monthly payments per semester (fall/spring). By registering for lessons you agree to the full year of lessons and payments (even if you choose to discontinue lessons). Attendance for classes are not mandatory, but recommended to have a steady of a progression.

LISTENING
SOD asks that our students that are taking Grade 1 and above to be listening to the CD. This will advance the learning and ability to memorize the syllabus work. CDs may be purchased from the school store.
RECITALS
Solo and group performances are the milestones of our musical journey. Attendance and presence for the entirety is required. Learning to support our dancers with positive attitudes is an essential part of our community. This teaches our students to understand that everyone is equally important. In the spring we will have one formal showcase of our dancers, plus quarterly parent showcases in the studio.
EXAMS
Exams are not a requirement to the program, but are highly encouraged. Ballet exams are valuable for ballet students because they promote the development of strong technique, artistry, and quality of movement.
The examining process gives each student a goal to work towards and allows them to achieve it. It takes discipline to study theory and work hard in class to reach the technical requirements for each grade level. Achieving goals heightens self-esteem by allowing the dancer to graduate to the next level upon successful completion of the previous grade. Using an accredited method that builds from one level to the next is important in developing a well-trained dancer.
APPOINTMENTS
Fitting Day will occur two times per year. Once in August and once in January. Dates will be sent out a month prior.
