Scientific research confirms that music in the first three years of life stimulates physical, social, and intellectual growth. West Texas Conservatory carefully designed this program to use music, movement, activities, and children books to encourage early growth in language and reading readiness. This program also helps children develop rhythmic and melodic awareness, memory, and social skills.

Early Beginning

The early years are crucial for developing mental processes and muscle coordination. Listening to music should begin at birth; formal training may begin at age three or four, but it is never too late to begin.

Listening

Listening to music every day is important! Just like a child learns to speak from listening to their parents, a child will learn to play and appreciate music from hearing it each day.

Parent Involvement

Parents are involved in the musical learning, just like they are when the child first learns to speak.

Repetition

Repetition is essential in learning to play an instrument. Once children master the basics, they can use them in new and more sophisticated ways.
